Synopsis
Set during the reign of Suk Jong in the Joseon dynasty, the story centers on Dong Yi, a maid who gains Queen Inhyeon's trust and later the king's favor when he is moved by her prayers for the queen's health during the court controversies caused by Jang Hee Bin. Dong Yi becomes a concubine with the rank of Sook-bin and has a son who later becomes the 21st king of the Joseon dynasty, Yeongjo.
