Moon Embracing the Sun

The story of a forbidden love between Lee Hwon, king of the Joseon dynasty (1392-1910), and Wol, a female shaman (lowest social stratum of the time). However, Wol is actually Heo Yeon Woo, a noblewoman who was Lee Hwon's fiancée when they were teenagers. But, due to palace intrigues and private interests, they never got married and everyone believed her to be dead. During the “incident” she loses her memory and, 8 years later, when they meet again she does not recognize him, while he thinks she is only someone similar to his first love. Lee Hwon reels internally about his feelings for Wol (Heeo Yeon Woo) as he struggles for power in the palace. Will Heo Yeon Woo and Lee Hwon be able to regain their love and their rightful place in the palace? Will these two soul mates be able to get back together or are they destined for an impossible love and a future apart for the rest of their lives?
