'Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia' Unveils New Teaser Starring Kim Ji Won

SBS has unveiled a new teaser for its upcoming medical noir drama 'Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia', giving viewers a closer look at Kim Ji Won in her transformation into the brilliant and fearless surgeon Gye Soo Jung.

The newly released teaser introduces Gye Soo Jung as a surgeon who relies solely on her extraordinary skills and refuses to be intimidated by the rigid hierarchy of the medical world. Known as the "mad dog of the operating room," she is dispatched to Guseo University Hospital, where she quickly finds herself confronting a system deeply affected by money, power, and corruption.

Rather than presenting the typical image of a composed doctor in a white coat, Gye Soo Jung immediately stands out with her striking presence and uncompromising attitude. Her confidence inside the operating room hints at a character who is willing to challenge the hospital establishment whenever it gets in the way of saving a patient's life.

The drama follows Gye Soo Jung as she takes on seemingly impossible medical cases while exposing the absurdities and corruption surrounding the prestigious university hospital. Her unmatched surgical abilities become her greatest weapon as she confronts a medical system where influence and power often matter more than patients.

Based on the acclaimed Japanese series 'Doctor-X: Surgeon Michiko Daimon', the Korean adaptation combines medical drama with noir and dark-hero elements. It marks SBS's first medical entry in its distinctive "cider" drama universe, following series known for their satisfying stories of characters confronting corruption and injustice.

Kim Ji Won leads the series alongside Lee Jung Eun, Son Hyun Joo, and Kim Woo Seok. Lee Jung Eun plays Jang Hee Sook, the head of a doctor staffing agency, while Son Hyun Joo portrays Guseo University Hospital director Boo Seung Gwon and Kim Woo Seok plays intern Park Tae Kyung.

The new teaser arrives ahead of the drama's premiere and gives viewers their first substantial look at Kim Ji Won's commanding new character. SBS has confirmed that 'Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia' will premiere on October 9 at 9:50 p.m. KST, airing every Friday and Saturday.
