Choi Myung-bin Reportedly Joins Netflix’s ‘Solo Leveling’ as Byeon Woo-seok’s Sister

A new member of Sung Jin-woo’s family has reportedly been cast.

Rising actress Choi Myung-bin is reportedly joining Netflix’s highly anticipated live-action adaptation of Solo Leveling, where she will play the younger sister of Byeon Woo-seok’s Sung Jin-woo.

According to an exclusive report from OSEN, Choi Myung-bin has been cast as Sung Jin-ah, Jin-woo’s younger sister, adding another important character to the protagonist’s family.

Choi Myung-bin to Play Sung Jin-ah

In Solo Leveling, Choi Myung-bin will portray Sung Jin-ah, the younger sister of Sung Jin-woo.

Her character is Jin-woo’s only sibling and will be part of the protagonist’s life outside the dangerous world of Hunters and monsters.

The casting also means viewers will get to see Byeon Woo-seok and Choi Myung-bin portray siblings on screen, creating a different dynamic from the actor’s usual romance roles.

From the Weakest Hunter to Humanity’s Strongest

The live-action Solo Leveling follows Sung Jin-woo, an E-Rank Hunter considered one of the weakest Hunters in a world where mysterious Gates connect Earth to dangerous monster-filled realms.

After finding himself facing a life-or-death situation, Jin-woo undergoes a mysterious awakening that allows him to level up in a way no other Hunter can.

His journey eventually transforms him from the weakest Hunter into a powerful figure capable of protecting humanity.

Sung Jin-ah's role provides an important connection to Jin-woo's life before and beyond his transformation into a Hunter.

Who Is Choi Myung-bin?

Born in 2008, Choi Myung-bin is currently 18 years old and began her career as a child actress.

She made her film debut in Queen of Walking and went on to appear in movies including The Vanished, Rain and Your Story, and A Little Princess.

On television, she has appeared in dramas such as Young Lady and Gentleman, The King's Affection, and Twenty-Five Twenty-One.

More recently, she appeared in the Netflix series Genie, Make a Wish as a younger version of Eun Sae, and starred in the film The Girl Who Pulls a Carrier, taking on the title role of Young Sun.

Choi Myung-bin also signed an exclusive contract with O3 Collective last month, marking a new chapter in her career.

Netflix’s ‘Solo Leveling’ Is Still in Production

The live-action adaptation is based on the hugely popular Korean webtoon Solo Leveling, which follows Jin-woo’s rise through a world filled with Hunters, Gates, and monsters.

The series stars Byeon Woo-seok as Sung Jin-woo, alongside Han So-hee, Kang You-seok, Kang Mi-na, and Cha Woo-min.

Filming began in 2026, with the series currently expected to arrive on Netflix in 2027 or later.

With Choi Myung-bin reportedly joining the cast as Sung Jin-ah, fans now have another glimpse at the family surrounding Byeon Woo-seok’s version of the iconic protagonist.

For now, Netflix has not announced an exact premiere date.
