Song Hye Kyo and UAA End Their 14-Year Partnership
Actress Song Hye Kyo has officially parted ways with her longtime agency, United Artists Agency (UAA), bringing an end to a partnership that lasted more than 14 years.
On June 26, UAA released an official statement confirming that the actress's exclusive contract had recently expired.
"Song Hye Kyo's exclusive contract has recently come to an end. After many years built on trust and mutual respect, we have decided to conclude our journey together and sincerely support each other's future endeavors."
The agency also expressed its gratitude for the years they spent working together.
"Song Hye Kyo has been with UAA for many years and has received tremendous love not only in Korea but across Asia and around the world. The time we spent together will always remain a happy and cherished memory."
A Partnership That Defined an Era
Song Hye Kyo joined UAA in November 2012 as the agency's very first signed artist, becoming the face of the company from its launch.
Throughout her time with the agency, she continued to strengthen her reputation as one of South Korea's most celebrated actresses by starring in a string of successful dramas.
Among her most notable works during this period were That Winter, the Wind Blows (2013), Descendants of the Sun (2016), Encounter (2018), Now, We Are Breaking Up (2021), and the global phenomenon The Glory (2023).
In particular, The Glory became a worldwide success on Netflix, expanding her international fanbase and further cementing her status as one of the leading faces of Korean dramas.
Preparing for Her Netflix Return
Despite closing one chapter of her career, Song Hye Kyo is already preparing for another.
The actress is set to return to the small screen later this year with Netflix's upcoming original series Show Business (Slowly and Intensely), one of the platform's most anticipated Korean productions.
Written by acclaimed screenwriter Noh Hee Kyung and directed by Lee Yoon Jung, the series tells a story of ambition and success set against South Korea's entertainment industry during the 1960s through the 1980s.
The drama features an impressive ensemble cast that includes Gong Yoo, Kim Seol Hyun, Cha Seung Won, Lee Ha Nee, and Na Moon Hee, alongside Song Hye Kyo.
A New Chapter Begins
Production for the 22-episode Netflix series wrapped earlier this year after nearly a full year of filming, with its premiere scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
As Song Hye Kyo prepares for one of the biggest projects of her career, her departure from UAA marks the end of a significant era and the beginning of a new chapter both professionally and personally.
Fans are now eagerly awaiting news of her next agency while looking forward to her highly anticipated return to Netflix later this year.
