The Korean remake of the Hollywood film The Intern has officially confirmed its release during the 2026 Chuseok holiday season, bringing one of the most beloved workplace comedies back to the big screen with a distinctly Korean perspective.

Originally starring Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway, the Korean adaptation reimagines the heartwarming story while incorporating Korean workplace culture and modern social values.

Choi Min Sik and Han So Hee Lead the Film

The remake stars Choi Min Sik as Gi Ho, a wise and experienced man in his seventies who joins a fashion startup as a senior intern.

Opposite him is Han So Hee, who plays Seon Woo, the perfectionist CEO of the successful fashion startup Woo22. As the head of a company generating more than ₩10 billion in annual sales, Seon Woo finds herself balancing the pressures of leadership while unexpectedly forming a meaningful friendship with her new intern.

The two characters mirror the roles originally portrayed by Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway in the 2015 film.
