According to industry reports released on June 29, Gong Seung Yeon has received an offer to join the series and is currently in the final stages of discussions. Earlier reports had already named Lee Jun Hyuk as the drama's male lead, making the pair the expected leads if both finalize their casting.
Based on a Popular Web Novel
Calm Lies is based on the hit web novel of the same name by author Kim Eon Hee.
The story follows a chaebol heir and a copywriter whose lives become intertwined as they are drawn into a fierce succession battle within a powerful conglomerate. Along the way, romance develops against a backdrop of corporate intrigue, family conflict, and power struggles.
The series also shares the same fictional universe as the popular web novel Lee Seob's Love, another adaptation currently in development.
Their Reported Roles
Lee Jun Hyuk has reportedly been cast as Tae Jun Seob, the charismatic grandson of the chairman of TK Group. Blessed with exceptional talent, intelligence, and striking looks, Tae Jun Seob is considered one of the company's brightest successors.
Gong Seung Yeon has been offered the role of Yeon Woo Kyung, a talented copywriter whose unexpected encounter with Tae Jun Seob pulls her into the family's high-stakes succession battle.
If confirmed, the drama will mark the first on-screen collaboration between the two actors.

Calm Lies is currently in pre-production alongside Lee Seob's Love, with both projects planned as companion adaptations connected through the same fictional universe.
The series is being produced by Bon Factory, known for romance hits such as Lovely Runner and What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, together with Ace Factory, the studio behind the acclaimed Stranger series, and AMAN Media.
Directing the drama is Jo Hyun Tak, who received praise for his work on the JTBC series The Tale of Manager Kim Who Owns a Home in Seoul While Working at a Major Corporation.
