Following the explosive success of Agent Kim Reactivated, SBS has finally addressed whether viewers can expect the hit action drama to return for a second season.
SBS: No Official Discussions Yet
On July 6, an SBS representative commented on the possibility of Season 2, saying that no official discussions are currently underway.
However, the network acknowledged the drama's potential to continue as a franchise.
"There are no official discussions underway yet. However, since it is a drama that is fully capable of expanding into a seasonal format, it seems viewers' expectations are naturally building up."
While this stops short of confirming another season, SBS's statement leaves the door open for a future continuation.
A Breakout Hit for SBS
Based on the popular webtoon, Agent Kim Reactivated stars So Ji Sub as a seemingly ordinary father with a dangerous past who will stop at nothing to save his daughter.
The series has become one of 2026's biggest television successes, with ratings climbing every week:
- Episode 1 — 9.5%
- Episode 2 — 15.7%
- Episode 3 — 18.8%
- Episode 4 — 21.6%
With Episode 4 reaching 21.6% nationwide, the drama now ranks as the third highest-rated Friday-Saturday SBS drama of all time, trailing only The Penthouse 2 (29.2%) and The Fiery Priest (22%).
So Ji Sub Also Hopes for Another Season
Interest in a second season has grown even stronger because the drama is scheduled for only 10 episodes, despite its remarkable ratings and popularity.
Lead actor So Ji Sub also recently shared that he hopes the series can continue with another season, echoing fans' enthusiasm for expanding the story.
Although Season 2 has not yet entered official development, both the network and the cast appear aware of the overwhelming demand, making Agent Kim Reactivated one of the strongest candidates to become SBS's next long-running action franchise.
