Singer-actress IU and actor Lee Jong Suk have officially ended their relationship after four years together.
On July 10, representatives for both stars confirmed to Dispatch that the couple recently broke up and have decided to remain on good terms as colleagues.
The pair first met in 2012 while serving as MCs on SBS's Inkigayo. After spending nearly a decade as friends, their relationship turned romantic and they publicly confirmed they were dating at the end of 2022, quickly becoming one of Korea's most beloved celebrity couples.
According to reports, the decision came as both stars became increasingly busy with their individual schedules, leading them to naturally grow apart before ultimately choosing to go their separate ways.
Despite the breakup, both sides emphasized that IU and Lee Jong Suk remain on good terms and will continue supporting each other as respected colleagues.
Both stars are currently focused on their upcoming projects, with Lee Jong Suk preparing for the release of The Remarried Empress and IU working on her next album following the completion of 21st Century Grand Prince's Wife.
