Hong Hwa Yeon In Talks To Join Lee Junho In tvN Fantasy Romance "Embassy for Foreign Monsters in Korea"

A promising new fantasy romance may have found its leading lady.

According to YTN Star, actress Hong Hwa Yeon has received an offer to star as the female lead in tvN's upcoming fantasy romantic comedy "Embassy for Foreign Monsters in Korea" and is currently reviewing the role.

A Rookie Diplomat Meets A Dragon

The drama is set inside the Embassy for Foreign Monsters in Korea, a secret organization responsible for overseeing supernatural creatures living in the country.

If she accepts the role, Hong Hwa Yeon will portray a rookie human diplomat who is accidentally assigned to the mysterious embassy, where she crosses paths with its ambassador—who is actually a dragon disguised as a human.

Lee Junho has previously been reported to be positively considering the role of Cha Yeon, the dragon ambassador who has remained on Earth for over 1,200 years.

A Fresh Pairing For 2027

Hong Hwa Yeon has steadily gained attention through projects including Buried Hearts, Tastefully Yours, I Am a Running Mate, and most recently Stealth Audit, making this potential casting another major step in her rising career.

The fantasy rom-com is written by Shin Ha Eun (Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha) and is currently scheduled to premiere on tvN in 2027.

At this time, Hong Hwa Yeon's appearance has not yet been officially confirmed, as discussions are still ongoing.
