Lee Jin Uk Joins Lim Yoona In Talks To Lead Korean Remake Of Award-Winning Japanese Drama "Unnatural"

The cast of one of Korea's most anticipated remakes is beginning to take shape.

On July 15, BH Entertainment confirmed that Lee Jin Uk is positively reviewing an offer to star in the Korean adaptation of the acclaimed Japanese mystery medical drama "Unnatural." He would join Lim Yoona, who has also been positively considering the leading role since May.

A New Team Of Forensic Doctors

Originally broadcast in Japan, "Unnatural" became both a critical and commercial success, earning multiple drama awards for its compelling blend of forensic science, mystery, and emotional storytelling. The Korean remake will be directed by Park Yoo Young, known for The Kidnapping Day and Ms. Incognito.

If confirmed, Lim Yoona will play Im Do Eun, a gifted forensic doctor known for her sharp instincts, resilient personality, and unwavering determination to uncover the truth behind suspicious deaths.

Meanwhile, Lee Jin Uk is in talks to portray Koo Seung Hyuk, a fellow forensic doctor with a tragic past who puts facts and evidence above emotion, creating a compelling contrast with Im Do Eun's approach.

The original "Unnatural" follows forensic pathologists as they investigate mysterious and unnatural deaths, uncovering hidden truths behind each case. Its Korean adaptation is expected to bring the beloved story to a new audience while reimagining it with a local setting and cast.
