A highly anticipated mystery drama may have found its leading duo.
On July 16, reports revealed that Park Ji Hyun has been cast as the female lead in "Paradise" (working title), the upcoming mystery thriller written by Kim Su Jin, the acclaimed writer behind Beyond Evil. In response, her agency Namoo Actors stated that the project is one of the works she is currently reviewing, indicating that discussions are still ongoing.
Reporter And Detective Unite To Uncover The Truth
"Paradise" tells the story of reporter Kang Chi Young and police detective Cha Jung Won, who become entangled in an unimaginable incident and begin uncovering long-hidden secrets surrounding a mysterious case.
Lee Jong Suk is currently in talks to play Kang Chi Young, while Park Ji Hyun has reportedly been offered the role of Cha Jung Won. Together, the journalist and detective will lead the investigation at the heart of the series.
Reuniting Lee Jong Suk With Director Oh Choong Hwan
The project will be directed by Oh Choong Hwan, whose previous works include Start-Up, While You Were Sleeping, and Big Mouth. The collaboration is especially notable as it would reunite Lee Jong Suk with the director following their successful partnership on While You Were Sleeping and Big Mouth.
For Park Ji Hyun, the drama would mark another high-profile leading role following her recent projects, continuing her rise as one of Korea's most sought-after actresses. Fans are already looking forward to seeing her share the screen with Lee Jong Suk for the very first time.
At this stage, neither actor's casting has been officially confirmed, and both are still reviewing their offers.
