JTBC's "Rediscovery of Love" To Resume Filming After Major Production Overhaul
JTBC's upcoming romance drama "Rediscovery of Love" is officially moving forward again after its recent production hiatus—but with a dramatically different format.
According to an exclusive report released on July 17, filming is scheduled to resume in early August, following an extensive restructuring of the project. The production team reportedly decided to continue the drama after considering multiple revisions rather than restarting production from scratch.
Episode Count And Runtime Significantly Reduced
One of the biggest changes involves the drama's overall length.
The original plan called for 12 episodes running approximately 70 minutes each, but the series has now reportedly been reduced to 8 episodes of around 45 minutes each. That cuts the total runtime from 840 minutes to 360 minutes—less than half of the original plan.
Production is expected to officially restart preparations around July 20, with principal filming beginning during the first week of August and continuing through late October.
Why Production Was Paused
"Rediscovery of Love" began filming in June before unexpectedly halting production. At the time, the production team explained that only a limited portion of the script had been completed and that the summer rainy season made filming difficult, prompting a temporary shutdown to revise and improve the screenplay.
The suspension also sparked speculation that it was connected to the financial restructuring involving JTBC and other JoongAng Group affiliates. However, the production team previously denied that the pause was caused by the company's financial situation.
About The Drama
Starring Kim So Yeon, Kim Ji Suk, Yoon Hyun Min, and Hwang Woo Seul Hye, "Rediscovery of Love" follows a divorced couple who unexpectedly reunite after ending up living in the same share house while working at the same hotel, leading them to rediscover both themselves and each other.
While the revised format represents a major creative shift, production is now back on track as the team aims to complete filming later this year.
