IU Postpones 6th Album and Cancels September Concert Due to Worsening Ear Condition

IU has announced the postponement of her upcoming 6th studio album and the cancellation of her scheduled September concert in Goyang, citing a worsening of her chronic Patulous Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (PET). The singer shared the news directly with fans through her official fan platform, explaining that recent symptoms have made it increasingly difficult for her to perform

In her message, IU explained that the condition, which has affected her for years, has recently become more severe and persistent.

According to the singer, the symptoms now continue for days at a time and have repeatedly interfered with her ability to sing comfortably. Following consultations with medical specialists, she was advised that large-scale concerts and physically demanding tour schedules would be difficult to undertake at this time

As a result, IU decided to cancel her September concert and adjust her activities for the remainder of the year, with her agency EDAM Entertainment stating that her health is the top priority.

6th Studio Album Also Delayed

The postponement will also affect IU's long-awaited 6th full-length album.

The artist explained that concerts and touring were intended to be the centerpiece of the album's promotional campaign, making it impossible to proceed with the original release schedule. She apologized to fans for the delay and promised to return as soon as her condition improves.

Patulous Eustachian Tube Dysfunction occurs when the Eustachian tube remains abnormally open, causing symptoms such as hearing one's own voice or breathing unusually loudly, ear fullness, and difficulty maintaining normal hearing perception.
