Lee Junho and Hong Hwa Yeon Confirmed to Lead tvN Fantasy Romance Embassy of Foreign Nations in Korea

A dragon. A rookie diplomat. One of 2027's most unique K-drama romances.

Lee Junho and Hong Hwa Yeon have officially been confirmed as the leads of tvN's upcoming fantasy romantic comedy Embassy of Foreign Nations in Korea, a highly anticipated new drama from writer Shin Ha Eun (Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Love Next Door) and director Bae Hyun Jin (Hierarchy, Big Mouth).

A Secret Embassy for Mythical Creatures

The drama follows the mysterious Embassy of Foreign Nations in Korea, a hidden diplomatic institution responsible for managing mythical beings—such as dragons, mermaids, gumiho, and haetae—who secretly live alongside humans in South Korea.

Lee Junho will play Cha Yeon, the embassy's ambassador, who is actually an ancient dragon and water deity that has lived on Earth for over a thousand years. Calm and gentle on the surface but capable of overwhelming power, his life begins to change after meeting a human for the first time in a meaningful way.

Hong Hwa Yeon Takes on Her First Major Romantic Comedy

Hong Hwa Yeon stars as Go Mi Woo, a former Asian Games gold medal-winning archer who unexpectedly becomes a rookie diplomat after being mistakenly assigned to the secret embassy.

As she navigates a world filled with supernatural beings, she finds herself growing closer to Cha Yeon, setting the stage for an unusual romance between a human and a dragon. The series also marks Hong Hwa Yeon's first major fantasy romantic comedy lead.
