Supporting Young Patients and Their Families
According to the hospital, the funds will be used to improve the medical environment at the Children's Hospital, including upgrading treatment facilities for pediatric and adolescent patients.
The donation will also support:
- Improvements to pediatric treatment facilities.
- Medical staff research and education.
- Home-based treatment and palliative care programs for critically ill children.
- Emotional support and integrated care programs for young patients and their families.
A Long History of Giving
Nam Joo Hyuk has consistently participated in charitable initiatives since 2018. Inspired by the scholarship support he received while pursuing his own dreams as a student, he has previously donated scholarships to his alma mater and contributed to disaster relief efforts for wildfire victims.
His agency emphasized that his continued support for children's healthcare reflects a long-term commitment to philanthropy rather than a one-time gesture. With this latest donation, his total contributions to Seoul Asan Medical Center have now reached 500 million KRW.
Continuing His Acting Comeback
Following his military discharge, Nam Joo Hyuk recently returned to the screen with Netflix's The East Palace, which quickly climbed Netflix's Global Top 10 Non-English TV rankings. He has also confirmed his next project, the Disney+ crime series Code, as he continues his acting comeback.
