Ryu Hye Young In Talks to Join "White Scandal" Alongside Song Kang and Kim So Hyun

Actress Ryu Hye Young is reportedly in talks to join the cast of the upcoming drama White Scandal, adding another major project to her growing lineup. According to her agency, VAST Entertainment, the actress has received the offer and is positively reviewing it. ([Wikipedia]1)

If confirmed, Ryu Hye Young will play Dan Yoo Jin, a prosecutor and the eldest granddaughter of the powerful NB Group. Her character is also the half-sister of Dan Yi Hyuk, the group's illegitimate son and a top actor, who is reportedly set to be played by Song Kang.

About White Scandal

Based on the popular web novel of the same name by Moon Chae Ah, White Scandal follows Ji Eun Seol, a former child actress whose promising career is destroyed after she takes the blame for her older brother's crime. Years later, while working as a road manager and still holding onto her dream of acting, she becomes involved in a contract relationship with Dan Yi Hyuk, bringing long-buried secrets back to the surface.

Kim So Hyun has been previously reported as the drama's female lead.

A Complicated Family Dynamic

Dan Yoo Jin is described as a prosecutor who deliberately chose her career to distance herself from her influential grandfather. Despite belonging to the same family, she has a tense relationship with Dan Yi Hyuk, as the two half-siblings have conflicting positions within the NB Group and would rather avoid becoming the family's successor.

The role is expected to showcase another strong and layered performance from Ryu Hye Young, who is widely recognized for her memorable portrayal of Sung Bo Ra in Reply 1988.

Production

White Scandal will reportedly be written by Kim Ga Eun (Call It Love) and directed by Kim Cheol Kyu (Mother, Flower of Evil). Production is being handled by Ghost Studio, with casting currently underway.
