"A Bona Fide Killer" Premieres at No. 1 with Strong 7.4% Ratings

MBC's new action drama A Bona Fide Killer has made an impressive debut, claiming the No. 1 spot in its time slot across all channels with its very first episode. According to Nielsen Korea, the series premiered on July 31 with an average 7.4% nationwide rating, signaling a strong start for the highly anticipated drama.

A Working Mom with a Deadly Secret

Based on the hit Kakao webtoon of the same name, A Bona Fide Killer follows Yu Bo Na, an ordinary office worker and devoted mother who secretly lives a double life as the legendary sniper known as "Kingfisher." As she returns to work after maternity leave, she struggles to balance family life with dangerous missions that only she can carry out.

Kong Hyo Jin Returns with an Action Role

The series stars Kong Hyo Jin as Yu Bo Na, showcasing a completely different side of the actress through a character who seamlessly shifts between caring mother and elite assassin. She is joined by Jung Joon Won, who plays her investigative journalist husband, and Lee Sang Yi, who portrays a determined detective pursuing the mysterious Kingfisher.

A Promising Start for MBC's New Action Drama

Beyond topping its time slot, the premiere also generated strong buzz thanks to its blend of action, suspense, and dark comedy. With its unique premise and a standout lead performance from Kong Hyo Jin, A Bona Fide Killer has quickly positioned itself as one of the most promising new Korean dramas of the summer season.
