Yeom Jung-ah and Moon Ga-young to Star in New Thriller Film Two Piece

Yeom Jung-ah is set to join Moon Ga-young in the upcoming thriller film Two Piece, bringing together two acclaimed actresses for a story centered on friendship, conflict and tragedy between women from very different social backgrounds.

According to a report from IZE on August 13, Yeom Jung-ah has agreed to appear in Two Piece and is currently working through the final details of her contract. The film is directed and written by Min Yong-geun, known for Re-encounter and Soulmate.

Yeom Jung-ah and Moon Ga-young Lead a High-Profile Cast

Two Piece is set in a high-end luxury apartment in Seoul's Gangnam district and follows two women from different social backgrounds whose lives become increasingly intertwined.

Yeom Jung-ah is set to play Mi-young, a woman in her 40s who leads an ordinary life before beginning work as a housekeeper at a luxury apartment. After arriving at the residence, she unexpectedly becomes caught up in an incident that changes the course of her life.

Moon Ga-young will portray Hyun-ah, a wealthy woman in her 20s who is Mi-young's employer. Described as a mysterious and beautiful homeowner, Hyun-ah comes from a completely different social background from Mi-young.

The two characters will become involved in a complicated relationship that develops into friendship, conflict and ultimately tragedy, setting the stage for an intense character-driven thriller.

A Dream Pairing for the Thriller

The combination of Yeom Jung-ah and Moon Ga-young is already drawing attention to the project.

Yeom Jung-ah has built an extensive filmography over more than three decades, appearing in films such as A Tale of Two Sisters, The Big Swindle, Cart and Smugglers, as well as the hit drama SKY Castle.

Moon Ga-young, meanwhile, has continued to expand her career across both television and film. Her recent credits include True Beauty, The Interest of Love, My Dearest Nemesis and Second Shot at Love, while her recent film work has further established her as one of the rising actresses on the Korean big screen.

Their age difference and contrasting acting styles are expected to add another layer to the relationship between Mi-young and Hyun-ah.

From the Director of Soulmate

Two Piece is being written and directed by Min Yong-geun, the filmmaker behind Re-encounter and Soulmate.

The project was selected for the Korea Film Council's production support program this year. Its screenplay reportedly received strong support from the selection committee and was allocated 1.6 billion won in production funding.

The film has also reportedly passed the investment review process of a major Korean film distributor and is currently preparing for its final contracts.

With Min Yong-geun handling both the screenplay and direction, the project is expected to focus heavily on the emotional and psychological dynamics between its two female leads.

When Will Two Piece Begin Filming?

Two Piece is currently in the pre-production stage.

Once the remaining contracts are finalized, production is expected to begin in the second half of 2026.

No official release date or distributor has been announced yet.
