Moon Ji-yoon (born February 18, 1984 – died March 18, 2020) was a South Korean actor and model known for his many supporting roles in both television dramas and films. He began his acting career in 2002 with the drama Romance and went on to appear in popular shows like Sassy Girl Chun-hyang, Iljimae, Big, May Queen, Cheese in the Trap, and Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo. In film he featured in works such as Mr. Wacky, Whatcha Wearin’?, The Merciless, and the movie adaptation of Cheese in the Trap. Tragically, he passed away at age 36 due to acute septicemia after being hospitalized for a severe sore throat; his death was confirmed by his agency, and it was clarified that his passing was not caused by COVID-19.
