Kim Young-ok, born on December 5, 1937, in Gyeongseong (now Seoul), South Korea, is a renowned South Korean actress affectionately known as the country's "National Grandma" due to her iconic portrayals of grandmothers in television and film. She began her career in 1957 with the play Monkey's Son and later joined MBC as a voice actress in 1961. Her television debut occurred in 1969, marking the beginning of a prolific career spanning over six decades.
