Kim Eung-soo (김응수), born on February 12, 1961, in Seocheon, South Chungcheong Province, South Korea, is a seasoned South Korean actor renowned for his compelling performances in both historical dramas and contemporary roles. He pursued his education at the Seoul Institute of the Arts, majoring in Theater, and further honed his craft at the Japan Institute of the Moving Image, where he studied filmmaking under the guidance of Shohei Imamura. After residing in Japan for seven years, Kim returned to Korea and began his acting career in the mid-1990s. He gained prominence through his roles in notable television dramas such as Bridal Mask (2012), Moon Embracing the Sun (2012), and Kkondae Intern (2020), where his portrayals earned him critical acclaim and numerous awards, including the Top Excellence Award at the 2020 MBC Drama Awards.
