Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born

In the 1950s, shortly after the Korean War, Yoon Jeong-Nyeon (played by Kim Tae-Ri) struggles to make a living selling clams with her mother, Seo Yong-Rye (Moon So-Ri), in Mokpo. Her biggest dream is to move to Seoul and become an actress in a women’s gukguek theater company, while also achieving wealth. One day, Yoon Jeong-Nyeon watches a performance by the Maeran Woman’s Gukguek Theater Company, led by Director Kang So-Bok (Ra Mi-Ran), which is touring from Seoul. Inspired by their show, she decides to pursue her dream with determination. Secretly, she hides in the luggage compartment of the company’s vehicle and soon becomes a trainee in Seoul. There, she meets Heo Young-Seo (Shin Ye-Eun), another trainee who excels in singing, dancing, and acting. Over time, Yoon Jeong-Nyeon and Heo Young-Seo develop a rivalry. Source: AsianWiki
